Ash’s story
First steps
She transformed over 12 weeks, but we did not stick to nor worry about a timeframe. She just had it in her mind we would see what we could do over 12 weeks and beyond. The first step was to figure out what was deeply driving Ash, as this is her reason for getting up in the morning and training. Our goals were to work together to train pain free, increase overall energy, reduce tension migraines and focus on areas of her body that she wanted to be more toned.
Drive
Before we go any further you must realise that Ash wasn’t unhappy with her body — she wanted overall life balance and to do everything she wanted and not miss out on a single thing, a little bit of FOMO. Ash was looking for her personal best. She is very focused and driven in her career at 2DayFm, with her very own show Ash London Live.
Determination
Like most people, Ash was determined and wanted to dive straight in and reach her goals straight away. But we had to overcome back pain and a weak core. So after quickly establishing where she was at with the right warm up drills and strength work, the core and back begun to strengthen.
Mental challenge
Then there was a mental challenge to beat, Ash believed you had to train hard and sweat until you were a mess and was surprised we were training to her ability and strength levels. She started to see results straight away because she was training frequently and her nutrition was on point.
Diet
The next challenge was her diet as she ate mostly plant based foods and some seafood. We quickly established a calorie baseline or food amount that she could eat during the week and some rewards over the weekend. So Ash had freedom and still reached her calorie deficit with eating foods that she liked which made it easier and she could sustain it. Even when travelling overseas she still stuck to her calories and maintained her results.
Beating pain
The biggest challenge was yet to come and that was her neck pain caused by upper tension in her shoulders, Ash received treatment with an injury specialist to receive tension and have her aligned well enough that she was not bothered all the time which was a huge relief for her.
Results
Challenge after Challenge Ash kept breaking through as the results were worth it, she felt amazing on the red carpet at the ARIA’s and onstage hosting RNB friday’s. The message is clear enjoy your training and love the process and most of all don’t miss out on anything, you have the power to choose what you do with your body and the huge benefits that come with looking after yourself.
